Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten a read time by using position information where a character, a symbol and the like, which have once been identified, exist, in the processing of a preceding screen. CONSTITUTION:Picture information stored in a picture information storage means 8a is transmitted to a position detection means D, and a position where the character, the symbol and the like exist is detected. The detected position information is stored in a detection position corresponding means E. Picture information which the detection means D has detected is transmitted to a sequential identification processing means B, and the character, the symbol and the like are identified. When all picture signals stored in the picture memory 8a are identified, similar processing is executed on picture information stored in a preceding picture memory 8b. In such a case, the position information is transmitted from the corresponding means E to the detection means D and picture information is detected based on position information stored in the corresponding means E. So with the identification processing in a picture memory 8c. Respective identified results are transmitted to a majority decision processing means C and a decision processing is executed.
