Abstract:
PURPOSE:To store information which is required to maintain the high quality of print with small storage capacity by providing a data storage means for storing respective constitution lines of a character as common width data and position data and a data restoring means which restores compressed and stored data on the constitution lines. CONSTITUTION:A hint information memory 24 is stored with compressed line width data and a dot data memory 22 is stored with dot data obtained by an outline conversion part 36. Then the line width data required to increase the print quality of characters, symbols, etc., are read out by a data read part 32, a line width data restoration processing part 34 as the data storing means for restoring the compressed line width data, and a line width processing part 35 which corrects line width, and the read data are restored. Consequently, the line width data as the information which is required to maintain the high quality of print with the small capacity can be stored.
