Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an end structure of an optic fiber which can be easily machined and which can be stably and efficiently connected to another optical part. CONSTITUTION:On end face of a core 11 of an optic fiber 10 is inward from one end face of a clad 13 of the optic fiber 10, and the shape of the end face of the core 11 is formed in a convex shape which does not project from the end face of the clad 13. Accordingly, the spot size of light emitted from the optic fiber 10 can be made to be small, having a high degree of coupling efficiency with respect to another optical part. Further, since the end face of the core 11 is inward from the end face of the clad 13, no damage to the end face of the core 11 occurs.
