Abstract:
PURPOSE:To restrain the partial abrasion of a pneumatic tire for a heavy load by specifying a ratio of the radius of curvature of a tread surface in a block to a phantom radius of curvature in a tire peripheral direction, and forming a widthwise fine groove with the predetermined width and depth at a specific position. CONSTITUTION:The radius of curvature Ra of the tread surface of a block 11 cellularized with peripheral and transverse grooves on a tread surface and the phantom radius of curvature Rb in a tire peripheral direction are so established that a ratio of Ra to Rb becomes 0.40 to 0.65. Also, a fine groove 14 is formed at the front and rear ends of the block 11 from a position off the end 15 of the block 11 by a distance W1 of 0.07 to 0.27 times block length W. In this case, a ratio of the width W2 of the fine groove 14 to the block length W, or W2/W is set to 0.6 to 0.06, and the depth h2 thereof is set to 0.25 to 1.0 times a main groove depth h1. According to the aforesaid construction, the partial abrasion of a heavy load radial tire can be restrained.
