Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a compact magnetic card reader. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic card reader 1 has a card path 3 where magnetic cards C1 and C2 are carried, a branching path 5 branching from the card path 3, carrier means 4 including the driving source 20 arranged on the card path and magnetic heads 23 (A, B) performing the recording/reproducing of information for the magnetic card. The reader is provided with a branching part 6 on the inner side of the card path 3 by forming the card path 3 by inclining it, a card standby part 3A on the inner side from the branching part, and a driving source in the space on this side of the card path 3.
