Abstract:
PURPOSE:To keep the life of an intermittent transfer material long and to enhance transfer material, while enabling removal of one earth roller which is pressed into direct contact with the intermittent transfer material and preventing disturbing of image formation on the intermittent transfer material and lowering of pressure even at the middle portion of a supporting roller. CONSTITUTION:A transfer device has a supporting roller 18c supporting an intermittent transfer material 10 and covered with a conductive thin film 18c' a transfer roller 22 pressing the intermittent transfer material 10 against the supporting roller 18c, and an earth roller 18d abutting on the surface of that side of the supporting roller 18c which is opposite to the transfer roller 22, and a transfer current on the intermittent transfer material 10 is passed to the earth roller 18d via the conductive thin film 18c' of the supporting roller 18c.
