Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the dezincification method for galvanized steel sheet scrap which evaporates and removes zinc by heating a high-temp. reducing gas prior to melting of the galvanized steel sheet scrap and provides cast iron sources. CONSTITUTION:The galvanized steel sheet scrap is worked to a lump shape of 1/10 to 1/20 the sectional diameter of a heat treatment vessel housing this scrap. The heat treatment vessel housing this steel sheet scrap is disposed within a furnace for reduction under heating of a vertical type. While the in-furnace atmosphere is sucked from above the furnace for reduction under heating, the high-temp. reducing gas formed in the lower part of the furnace for reduction under heating is introduced into the heat treatment vessel from the bottom thereof and is passed in this vessel to reduce the scrap under heating. The above-mentioned galvanized steel sheet scrap is worked to 1.5 to 2.5t/m<3> bulk density. The heat treatment vessel is spaced and is provided in superposition in the above-mentioned furnace for reduction under heating. As a result, the perfect and efficient dezincification of the galvanized steel sheet scrap are executed.
