Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a sintered compact having low specific gravity and high specific strength, having wear resistance favorable for high-speed sliding shafts, bearings, etc., of devices and equipments which are requested to be lightweight and downsized, and having corrosion resistance against non-ferrous molten metal necessary for plunger sleeves, etc., of a diecast machine for casting non-ferrous products. CONSTITUTION:A sintered compact has a composite structure containing graphite and titan carbide which is the reaction product (produces in the sintering process) between graphite and Ti of the matrix component as the dispersed phase in the matrix of Ti or Ti-alloy.
