Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title pigment having a specific structure obtained by binding anthraquinone which is a coloring nucleus through a coupling group of azomethylene or vinylene group to an aryl group and remarkably improved in polarizing performance and durability. CONSTITUTION:A dichroic anthraquinone based pigment expressed by formula I [X1, X2, X3 and X4 are H, halogen, hydroxyl, amino or lower alkylamino; Y is N or methyl; m and n are 0 or 1; R1 to R6 are H, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy; R7 is H or formula II to formula VI (R8 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, (substituted) phenyl, (substituted) cyclohexyl, (substituted) pyridyl, (substituted) diphenyl, (substituted) terphenyl or (substituted) naphthyl; Z is NH, O or S)] and having long and linear rod-like structure in molecular structure.
