Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing hydrogen peroxide by which although manganese dioxide is used as a catalyst, extraction or changes in colors of discharged water are not caused, consumption of the catalyst is little, its handling is easy and the running cost is low, and to provide its device. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a water tank which houses electrolytic manganese dioxide 1 or electrolytic manganese dioxide 1 and ceramics 2, pipes to supply a liquid to be treated containing hydrogen peroxide, and a discharging pipe to discharge water from the water tank. The water to be treated containing hydrogen peroxide is supplied to the water tank and brought into contact with the electrolytic manganese dioxide 1 for causing the catalytic action so that hydrogen peroxide is decomposed into water and oxygen. Thus, the concn. of hydrogen peroxide in the objective liquid is decreased.
