Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly retrieve an external character code which is high in use frequency when an external character code is found. SOLUTION: When the external character code is found, a means A2 which compares an external character code indicated with a head pointer starts comparing the external character code which was used last. When the external character code does not match, a means A5 which moves the pointer to an external character registration management list indicated with the pointer can perform retrieval from an external character code of high use frequency to an external character code of low frequency. When the external character code matches, a means A6 which updates the external character registration management list changes the retrieval order so that the matching external character code can be retrieved at the head when retrieval is performed next. Further, when no matching external character code is found up to the final list, means A7 and A8 which update the external character registration management list registers the external character code newly and also puts it at the head in the retrieval order.
