Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of a summary in respect to natural language processing device and method capable of automatically preparing the summary or abstract of a document by using a computer. SOLUTION: A document input part 10 inputs and stores an input document Sin to be summarized. Prior to the execution of summarizaion, an automatic short document dividing part 12 outputs documents Ssh obtained by automatically dividing the input document Sin including long sentences into plural short documents. An automatic summarizing part 14 outputs summary documents Ssab obtained by summarizing respective divided short documents Ssh. A connection point (division point) adjusting part 16 adjusts the division points of the input document Sin which are connection points of respective summary documents Ssab. A summary document output part 18 outputs summary documents Sab of which connection parts (division parts) have been adjusted.
