Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve good focus adjustment in photographing by carrying out correction of the focus position related to the focal distance variation when the focal distance adjustment of a zoom lens is completed, and at the same time, carrying out focus adjustment when good focusing condition is not obtained. CONSTITUTION:If a long focal distance of a zoom level 12 changes to a shorter one when the higher frequency components of the image signal obtained by photographing are in focus on a subject at the preset level or at higher level, adjustment of the focal position of the focusing level 13 is carried out on the basis of the fixed respective data stored in a storage means 40, and a focus remains to be placed on the subject which has been in focus before the focal distance is changed. And the longer focal distance of the zoom level 12 changes to a smaller one when the high frequency components of the image signal obtained through photographing are not in focus on the subject, automatic focusing is achieved, leading to focusing on the subject. This allows the focal position of the zoom level to be corrected by means of a simple constitution.
