Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a high reliable measurement by opening an end plug reception part at a side wall part facing a fuel rod insertion port of a vacuum vessel, and forming a tapered part on which inner circumferential face an outer periphery of an end of a fuel rod abuts so that it is made wider gradually in its dia. in the vessel. SOLUTION: At a side wall facing a fuel rod insertion port 2 of a vacuum vessel 1, a cylindrical end plug reception part 5 opened in the vessel 1 is formed. In the vessel 1, a motor-driven drill 6 is provided and a blade edge 6a is crossed at right angles with an axis of a fuel rod 3 inserted into the port 2. A tapered part 5a of which inner dia. is gradually increased toward the inside of the vessel 1 is formed at the inner peripheral face of the reception part 5, and an outer periphery of an end of the rod 3 is abutted against the tapered part 5a. One end of the rod 3 is inserted into the vacuum vessel 1 from the port 2 and an end plug part 3a is inserted into the reception part 5, the outer circumferential periphery of the end of the rod 3 abuts on the tapered part 5a. Accordingly, the rod 3 is supported at two positions of the tapered part 5a and a seal device 4, thereby making possible a sure fixation.
