Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a correction table generating method capable of reducing gradation distortion as the whole characteristics including a post process and reducing a difference between a dot area ratio value forcasted to be outputted and the dot area ratio value of an output picture from a picture processor. CONSTITUTION:A dot test picture is formed under the output condition of the reverse characteristic of the characteristic of a post process based upon reference picture data, the dot area ratio value of a dot test picture is measured, and in the case of finding out an approximate curve by the method of least squares for the dot area ratio value obtained by measurement under a condition that the curve is allowed to pass the previously determined start point pa and end point pp in the measured dot area ratio value, a difference from the measured dot area ratio value is multiplied by a distortion coefficient to obtain the equation of least squares and a correction table is generated based upon a weighted least square curve (a).
