Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the automatic transaction system which enables a user to carry out a transaction accompanying the charge reception of an article, etc., without exclusively using a terminal device for a long time for one transaction. CONSTITUTION:This system is equipped with the terminal device 100 which reads transaction items consisting of alphanumeric and KANJI(Chinese character) data entered into a form, e.g. an article code, a delivery destination, etc., at the time of a purchase of an article optically as image data and a host computer 120 which is connected to the terminal device 100 on an on-line basis and has dealings with the user by using code data generated by recognizing the characters of the image data; and image data KANJI recognition in the transaction items is mainly performed on the host computer side. Image data of the delivery destination, etc., are transferred to generate a delivery slip and an address label. The host side is r loaded with the character recognition of handwritten KANJI, etc., which low in read recognition rate to prevent the user from exclusively using the terminal device for a long time for one transaction and the image data of the handwritten delivery destination, etc., are transferred to issue a delivery slip, etc., with characters that the article requesting user writes directly.
