Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease the bits of a gain index and to reduce the influence of a transmission error. CONSTITUTION:This method is provided with a VQ gain code book 105 wherein statistical excitation gains and adaptive excitation gains are quantized into vectors. An RMS calculating circuit 104 calculates the square root (RMS value) of the power of an adaptive excitation vector and a leak circuit 118 performs the weighted addition of the corrected gain of a last frame and the RMS value of a current frame to calculate a gain correction value, thereby deforming a statistical excitation vector with the correction value and statistical excitation gain. This constitution provides superior synthesized speech quality even when the bits of the excitation gain index are decreased and the influence of a transmission line error is reducible.
