Abstract:
PURPOSE: To identify any specified letter type such as bold type or italic type by using a letter type area identifying means programmed so as to be arrowed by a structuring element(SE). CONSTITUTION: This method is provided with a step for providing a 1st target image by arrowing a binary text image corresponding to the 1st SE. Namely, the method is provided with the step for providing the 1st target image through arrowing corresponding to the 1st SE seemed to get hit in a 1st area rather than a 2nd area, and remaining picture elements are used for identifying the place of the 1st letter type. In this case, the basic operation of a device 100 is to extract or remove the several feature parts of a document 102. Therefore, the device 100 is equipped with a scanner 103 for digitizing the document 102 based on picture elements, and provided data structure is presented. Thus, the specified letter type such as bold type or italic type can be found while separating texts in the document.
