Abstract:
PURPOSE:To utilize the advantages of an indefinite communication network while maintaining excellent security function by developing an interface device as if the indefinite communication network were a token ring network when viewing from a token ring network terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:An interface device having a terminal connection port 31 connecting to a terminal equipment of the token ring network standards, a node equipment connection port 33 connecting to a node equipment of an indefinite communication network, a free token generating section 35, an address detection section 36, a reception register 37 and a token detection section 40 is used to connect a node equipment of the indefinite communication network and a terminal equipment of the token ring network. Then the interface device implements generating and absorption of a prescribed free token, each processing of transmission and reception of message information and further absorption processing at message information collision. Thus, the advantages of the indefinite communication network are utilized by connecting the terminal equipment of the token ring network to the indefinite communication network.
