Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure armature coil resistance exactly by eliminating counter electromotive force and the voltage drop at brushes from the voltage drop between brushes. CONSTITUTION:During operating a direct current motor, a constant current source 11 is connected between brushes of armature in series and different pilot current ia is sent from the current source 11 at two time points with a short interval. By using an equation Ra=(Va1-Va2)/(ia1-ia2), where Va1, Va2 and ia1, ia2 are voltage drops and pilot currents between the two time points, an exact coil resistance value Ra after eliminating the effect of counter electromotive force and voltage drop at the brushes can be measured. Using this coil resistance value Ra, exact coil temperature can be obtained.
