Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable both individual ignition and sequential fuel injection to be carried out by completing cylinder identification in an early stage after starting an engine. SOLUTION: Plural standard markers 121-124 formed on the signal board 12 of a crank shaft 10 and provided in those positions facing to the standard crank angle positions of respective cylinders are detected by a crank angle sensor 20 and plural cylinder identifying markers 161-165 provided with its possibility to output cylinder identifying pattern signals formed on the signal board 16 of a cam shaft 14 and allotted to respective cylinders at the point of time of detecting the standard markers are detected by means of the first cam sensor 22 and the second cam sensor 24 arranged apart from the sensor 22 by a specific angle. And based upon two cylinder identifying pattern signals outputted from the first and second cam sensors, the cylinder corresponding to a standard marker detected by the crank angle sensor 20 shall be identified.
