Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a wad having slippery feeling and excellent washing resistance and processability by firmly coating the surface of a polyester fiber with a silicone polymer film. CONSTITUTION: This polyester fiber having a fiber-to-fiber static friction coefficient of <=0.15, the increase in the friction coefficient of <=2.0 after 10 times washing and a specific resistance (logΩ) of <=10 is produced by applying 0.05-0.2wt.% of an aminomethoxysilane (component A) to the surface of polyester short fibers having a fineness of 0.7-5 de, coating the treated fiber with 0.5-5wt.% (based on the fiber in terms of pure component) of a liquid produced by mixing and dispersing 25-35 pts. of a component B composed of an organopolysiloxane having hydroxyl group or methoxy group on the terminal and containing amino group on a part of the recurring unit of the main chain, 55-65 pts. of a component C free from amino group and 35-45 pts. of the above component A in water to get a concentration of 10-50 wt.% of the components A to C, crimping the coated fiber by mechanical crimping at a crimp number of <=20/inch and a percentage crimp of <=25%, controlling the water content of the fiber to 5-12%, heat-treating with hot air of 165-175 deg.C for 5-15min and applying <=0.2wt.% of an antistatic agent to the fiber after cooling.
