Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an image reader in which a difference of image quality of a reproduced image hardly takes place. CONSTITUTION:When at least either an interval between read positions on an original picture 1 in the subscanning direction Y and a pitch of scanning lines is changed, a fixed interpolation circuit 127B interpolates a spectral signal from a reference line sensor 14B with a nearly constant interpolation coefficient with respect to the subscanning direction Y and delay interpolation circuits 127G, 127R compensates a relative position deviation between a reference line corresponding to a tentative read position after the interpolation of a reference line sensor 14B and a scanning line by the line sensors 14G, 14R, a noise characteristic of the spectral signal from the reference line sensor 14B is always kept constant while compensating color slurring of a reproduced image.
