Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve sufficient water stopping effects by depositing resin having high resistance to decomposition and high water absorption on a woolen single yarn, a carded wool single yarn, those yarns of a decomposition-resistant synthetic resin fiber, or two spun single yarn. CONSTITUTION:A highly decomposition-resistant and water-absorptive resin is deposited on a woolen single yarn, a carded wool signal yarn, those yarns of a decomposition-resistant synthetic fiber or a two spun single yarn. In this cane, without applying side pressure to a tape-like optical fiber a water- absorptive mediatory string which has extremely high tender feeling and is able to be formed to have a fan shaped or an elliptical cross section by slight pressure is obtained. Consequently, after deposition of the water-absorptive resin, sufficient water stopping effects is obtained with scarce increase of the diameter even when water is absorbed.
