Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject culture soil capable of performing operations such as filling, etc., in a seedling raising tray even without conducting watering and mixing before use, having a strength required to carry out mechanical transplantation without inhibiting the growth of the seedlings after the transplantation by including a specific acrylamide copolymer, an inorganic ion sequestering agent and soil. SOLUTION: This culture soil is obtained by including an acrylamide copolymer containing an acrylic salt, an inorganic ion sequestering agent and soil. At this time, the acrylamide copolymer containing the acrylic salt is preferably an acrylamide copolymer containing 3-50 mol% of the acrylic salt. The content of the acrylamide copolymer is preferably 0.3-3 wt.%. The soil preferably has a particle size distribution in which the amount of particles having <0.5 mm particle diameter is 20-30 wt.%, the amount of particles having >2.0 mm particle diameter is <30 wt.% and the balance has a particle diameter within the range of 0.5-2.0 mm. The moisture content of the soil is preferably 15-25 wt.%. The inorganic ion sequestering agent is preferably a polyphosphate and the content thereof is preferably 0.5-10 wt.%.
