Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a camera equipped with a photometric device which can sufficiently speedily start a photometric operation even when the illuminance of an object is low. CONSTITUTION:Before sensor photometry, imager photometry is executed based on the image pickup signals of an imager 3 on the exposure condition of the comparatively low illuminance, and only when it is judged that the object is bright at a certain degree in that case and positions in a range not to generate delay even when the sensor photometry is executed, the sensor photometry is executed based on the photometric output of an SPD 9. Even when the object is comparatively dark especially in the case of starting the photometric operation while a power switch is turned on, the photometry can be speedily executed.
