Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable accurate bill discrimination at all times by finding and storing a correction quantity if a linear defect occurs to a sensor and correcting image input data at the time of the bill discrimination. CONSTITUTION:A light emission unit 10 is made to emit light through a light emission driver 11 and a bill 20 which is a transmission type is conveyed between the light emission unit 10 and a photoelectric conversion part 12. For a reflection type, the light emission unit 10 and photoelectric conversion part 12 are installed on the same side about the bill conveyance path. Consequently, an image of the bill 20 is photodetected by the photoelectric conversion part 12 and its image signal is inputted as image input data 51 in specific channel order through an amplification part 13, a multiplexer 14, and an A/D converter 15, and stored in a RAM 50. Then it is judged whether or not the linear correction execution indicating means 61 of an operation part 60 is indicated and when so, the image input data are corrected by using a linear correction table 53 in the RAM 50. The linear correction table 53 contains quantities of deviation from linear characteristics, channel by channel.
