Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety by improving vibration characteristics of support structures for a vacuum vessel of a nuclear fusion device. SOLUTION: In the nuclear fusion device 30 having structures such as the hollow donut-like vacuum vessel 31, a toroidal coil, and a poloidal coil a vertical load acting on the vacuum vessel 31 is supported by support structures 33 thereunder while a horizontal load due to an earthquake or the like is supported by support beams 41 provided between the vacuum vessel 31 and a biological shield 37.
