Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize ion molecule reaction of a sample and a solvent to attain liquid chromatograph combined mass spectrometry of high sensitivity by eccentrically arranging the center axis of a communicating path for mist flow from liquid chromatograph and the center of a pore. SOLUTION: A sample solution is poured from a pouring port 3, fed to an analysis column 5 by a moving phase 1, separated component by component, eluted and fed to an atomizer 6. Mist from the atomizer 6 passes through a vaporizer 8 and enters an atmospheric pressure ion source part 11. Since the center axis 12 of a communicating path for making mist flow pass through, and the center of a pore 14 are eccentrically arranged, an ion sampling axis 13 is near mist peripheral flow. Fine mist is thereby ionized to efficiently desorb added molecules from a solvent. Bare ion desorbed from the solvent by an intermediate pressure part 15 enters a mass analysis part 18 from a pore 16 and is subjected to mass dispersion and detected by a detector 19 to provide mass spectrum by a data processor 21 via a DC amplifier 20.
