Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain image communication equipment that automatically switches the kind of transferred image data in accordance with the communication speed on a terminal side. SOLUTION: This image communication equipment has a data transmitting section 104a which transmits a series of image data groups, a terminal speed detecting section 104d which finds the communication speed of a terminal, and a transmitting time predicting section 104f which finds the transmitting time of image data at every image data. This equipment also has a display time calculating section 104e which finds the display time of the image data at every image data, a succeeding data transmitting section 104b which starts the transmission of succeeding image data to be transmitted next from the moment the completion of reception of the previously transmitted image data is discriminated, and a preceding data transmitting section 104c which transmits image data having a large data capacity per unit time or merely having a large data capacity of the image data to be transmitted later by prefetching the data by utilizing vacant time available before the displaying time of the image data, which are transmitted previously and are in the course of reproduction and display, elapses when the displaying time does not elapse at the moment the completion of reception of the succeeding image data is discriminated.
