Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the forced bending distortion of a tape-like coated optical fiber and the transmission loss increase of an optical fiber accompanying it in the optical fiber cable of a type for which a bar-like unit housing the tape- like coated optical fiber is SZ twisted on the outer periphery of a center bar-like member. SOLUTION: The SZ twisting of the bar-like unit 15 is performed so as to turn the depth direction of the groove 23 of a round barlike member 25 with a groove to the radial direction of the center bar-like member 11 in a center part (A) between the inversion parts of a twisting direction and to position a groove side wall positioned on the inner side of bending between the groove side wall on the opposite side and the outer peripheral surface of the center bar-like member 11 at the inversion part of the twisting direction at the time of assuming that the round bar-like memeber 25 with the groove is SZ twisted while the depth direction of the groove is turned in the radial direction of the center bar-like member in the inversion parts (B) and (C) of the twisting direction.
