Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for collation, by which an inputted fingerprint image is automatically reversed to a turned over image and collated. SOLUTION: A feature point extracting part 12 extracts the feature point of an input fingerprint image inputted by an input part 11, a feature point preparing part 14 additionally sets a feature point to the feature point extracted by the feature pint extracting part 12, a fingerprint collating part 15 collates the input fingerprint image with stored fingerprint images stored in a fingerprint database 19 and lists up the stored fingerprint images, which satisfy a predetermined threshold, as candidate fingerprint images and a fingerprint specifying part 16 decides identity between the input fingerprint image to be displayed on an input fingerprint display area 171 and the candidate fingerprint image to be displayed on a candidate fingerprint display area 181 and specifies the same candidate fingerprint image.
