Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the attenuation ratio of an unnecessary wavelength compo nent without increasing the number of components by forming an optical fiber grating at part of an optical fiber inside a light receiving element module. SOLUTION: A ferrule holder 95 and a sleeve 94, and the ferrule holder 95 and a ferrule 97 are so fixed that the light emitted from the optical fiber is converged on the photoreceiving of a PD chip 91. An end surface is cut at a tilt angle of 8 deg.. Alignment is so performed that the light emitted from the optical fiber 98 forms an image right on a photodiode chip 91. Further, a bend limiter 104 is embedded in the ferrule holder 95 so as to prevent the single-mode fiber 98 from curving greatly. This is a light receiving element module which receives 1.3μm light. The PD chip itself has sensitivity even at 1.55μm. There is a fiber grating at the tip 99 of the optical fiber, so the attenuation ratio of 1.55μm light can be made low.
