PURPOSE: To provide an image data recording device which is capable of recording a moving pictures for long time. CONSTITUTION: An object is photographed by a camera 11 by a-second period. As for the image data obtained by a thirty-second period of the image data obtained by a photographing, all the image data is recorded in a magnetic tape MT. As for the image data obtained for the thirty-second period, only the data showing the image of a block in motion is recorded in the magnetic tape MT. As for the data showing the image of a motionless part, the data is recorded in the magnetic tape MT by the thirty-second period, and as for the part except the motionless part, only the data showing the image of the part of the block in motion is recorded in the magnetic tape MT. Therefore, the recording for long time can be realized.
