To provide a time recorder in which labor and time are not spent for managing duty circumstances of employees, a running cost is reduced, and the employees can easily confirm their own duty circumstances.

By the time recorder 1, an owner of a time card 3 can easily confirm his or her own duty circumstances (the time he or she reports for arriving at or leaving work), because a thermal recording part 22 capable of writing/erasing visible information, which is provided on one surface of the time card 3 inserted into a body, writes the time he or she reports for arriving at or leaving work or the like as the visual information. Also, as the thermal recording part capable of writing/erasing the visual information writes the duty circumstances, the time card 3 can be used for a long time and the running cost can be cut down.
