Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food container having good preservability on contents placed in it, less expensive, safe and harmless, biodegradable in soil as it is when wasted and generating no harmful matter even by incineration. SOLUTION: The food container is prepared by subjecting a mixed material consisting of mixed fibers prepared by mixing true grass fiber and plant fiber of a Lagminosae plant like Lespedez or the like each in uncooked state as it is, and unboiled bamboo fibers to a pressing-compressing-molding treatment. Alternatively, a mixed material is prepared by further adding small amounts of water repelling agent and a paper strength-increasing agent to that mixed material, and this mixed material is subjected to a pressing-compressing-molding treatment.
