To provide an attendance history record managing device for efficiently collecting and summing-up attendance data, etc., without imposing much burden on a system.
Attendance history data of a database is converted into a text character string. The text file of the converted text character string (or a binary data string corresponding to the text character string) is generated, where a management time corresponding to attendance history data is defined as a file name. Then the text file is stored over the whole period of an operation. When the period of an attendance history requested from an outer part does not coincide with the data storage periods of the first and second databases, and also is not included in the periods, data for the portion of the period lacking in the second database is converted from text data, and compensated for the second database. Consequently, it is only required that data of the period necessary for short-term reference is stored concerning the data of the second database, so that the database is prevented from becoming enlarged.
