Abstract:

According to the invention, at least one status parameter and/or at least one connection parameter is determined. Using said parameters, at least one selection parameter is determined for selecting various error correction mechanisms from a number of error correction mechanisms, said selection parameter being used to describe a characteristic of the particular error correction mechanism in relation to the status parameter. The error correction mechanism selected is the error correction mechanism which best corresponds to a predetermined selection criterion. Useful data segments are coded and transferred using the selected error correction mechanism.
