Abstract:

To provide a refractory for positive electrode material calcination that increases corrosion resistance to the positive electrode material of a lithium battery and can improve durability life as a calcination jig.

The refractory is characterized by containing lithium and cobalt. Preferably, the content of lithium is 2-5 wt% and the content of cobalt is 2-5 wt%. It is desirable that molar ratio Li/Co of lithium and cobalt is 8/10 to 10/8. This refractory for positive electrode material calcination can be manufactured by calcining a ceramic material containing a lithium compound and a cobalt compound.
