Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a small rugged surface shape such as a human fingerprint and the noseprint of an animal in a relatively small detection area and also to secure a reduction in a cost and reliability. SOLUTION: This surface shape recognizing device stores template data showing the entire ruggedness of a collation object surface obtained preliminarily from an object to be collated in a storage circuit 9, electrically detects the ruggedness of a partial area of the collation object surface of the object to be collated in a surface shape detection circuit 7, compares detection data showing the ruggedness with collation data showing a part of the template data read from the circuit 9, and performs authentication decision of the object to be collated on the comparison results in a control circuit 8.
