Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new optical recording medium represented by a specific formula, soluble in a polar or nonpolar solvent, capable of performing regeneration or record regeneration by a laser beam having a wavelength selected from 620-690nm and useful as an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: This new optical recording medium comprises a compound of formula I [L is a group of formula II or III (R1 is an alkoxy of a pentose, etc., having 1,3-dioxolan; R2 and R3 are each a 1-15C alkoxy; R4 is H or a halogen); M is Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, etc.]. Moreover, the compound is obtained, for example, by heating and reacting a compound of formula IV in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecene in a metal derivative and an alcohol. Further, the optical recording medium preferably contains a metal-complex of an azo compound having a maximum absorption at <630nm wave length with the compound.
