To provide a portable telephone set by which a user can perform a key operation during the performance of an application program even when a cover part is closed and develop an application program without taking into consideration control for key allocation switching accompanied by the opening/closing of the cover part.
This portable telephone set 20 provided with an application program performing means for performing an application program is provided with a state change detecting means 212 for detecting a change in the cover part 20b between an opened state and a closed state, and a key allocation switching means 213 for switching key allocation that can be operated by the user between a key 214 for normal operation and a key 215 for operation with the cover part closed during the performance of the application program on the basis of a detection result of the state change detecting means 212 without using a command from the application program performed by an application program performing means 211.
