Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently maintain smooth drive of an internal combustion engine and purifying performance based on a catalyst arranged in an exhaust pipe by preventing reverse flow of water in an exhaust passage inside the exhaust pipe in the case of propulsion or capsize of a ship. SOLUTION: An extension end of an exhaust pipe 35 extended from an internal combustion engine 16 is connected to a water lock device 36, which is connected to the outside of a hull 3 through another exhaust pipe 37. The exhaust pipe 35 is divided in its longitudinal middle part into an upstream side pipe 42 and a downstream pipe 43. To an air box 44 arranged between respective division ends of the upstream and downstream pipes 42, 43, the respective division ends are connected. The division end of the upstream pipe 42 is opened in the vertical directional midway part inside the air box 44. Water 2 is supplied to an exhaust passage 47 inside at least one of the downstream pipe 43 of the exhaust pipe 35, the water lock device 36, and another exhaust pipe 37.
