Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new arylamine-containing vinyl monomer capable of providing an organic electroluminescent device excellent in luminous efficiency, luminous brightness and stability. SOLUTION: This new arylamine-containing vinyl monomer is the compound of formula I [R<1> to R<18> are each H, an alkyl, an amino, an alkoxy or a (substituted) aryl; Ar<1> and Ar<2> are each a (substituted) aryl], e.g. diphenyltetraphenyldiamine. The compound of formula I is obtained by adding a solution obtained by adding phosphonyl chloride to dimethylformamide-(DMF), to a compound of formula II dropwise so as to react and to provide a compound of formula III, and further adding triphenylphosphine bromide and CH2 ClCH2 Cl to the compound of formula III to react. The compound of formula I is polymerized, for example, by a method such as a bulk polymerization and a solution polymerization in the presence of a radical polymerization catalyst to provide a polymer useful for the objective device. Especially, the copolymerization product of the compound with a compound of the formula CHR<19> =CHR<20> (R<19> is H or methyl; R<20> is H, phenyl or the like) is useful.
