Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce traffic for a relay interval, in the case of distributing a video image from a video distribution server to a terminal taking part in a multi-point conference system, interlocked with a conference. SOLUTION: A plurality of video distribution servers 17, 18, 19 having the same video file are placed in advance to a router 23 in the vicinity of H. 323 terminals 11, 12, 13 on a network. First, one of the terminals 11, 12, 13 taking part in the conference requests nearby MCUs 14, 15, 16 having an MC (Multipoint Controller) to distribute a video image in interlocking with the conference. Then the MC transmits transport addresses (IP addresses and port numbers) with respect to a video distribution server and participating terminals and information of the video file to a management server 20. The management server 20 designates the nearest video distribution server and MP (Multipoint Processor) to the terminals 11, 12, 13 and returns a reply to the MC in the MCU. The MC in the MCU makes the nearest video distribution server to distribute the video image via the MP inside the MCU.
