To provide an output terminal device to allow output operation in normal operation mode as quickly as possible, when connecting to a host system in the state of a power-saving mode.

The output terminal device, which has the power-saving mode as an operation mode and switches from the power saving mode to normal mode when a prescribed condition is satisfied, is provided with a connection detecting means (24), which detects whether the output terminal device is connected to the host system with a communication cable and a power saving mode release control means (25), which issues a release command of the power- saving mode by a connection detected by the connection detecting means (24) as a trigger; and switches from the power-saving mode to the normal operation mode, in response to the release order of the power-saving mode.
