To provide a resolution correction apparatus which corrects an image so as to have uniform resolution extending over the whole image.
The resolution correction apparatus has: an outline signal generation means for generating outline signals that indicate outlines of an image based on image signals that indicate the image; and an outline correction signal generation means for generating outline correction signals to emphasize the outlines of the image, based on the outline signals that indicate the outlines of the image, which are generated by the outline signal generation means and the amount of correction which radially increases, as going toward the surrounding edge from the center on the image. The resolution correction apparatus also has an outline correction signal addition means for adding the outline correction signals, generated by the outline correction signal generation means to the image signals.
