PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of coping with multiple functions by less operation buttons without damaging operability. SOLUTION: This electronic camera 1 for converting object images formed by a photographing optical system 9 to electric signals by an image pickup element 8 and recording them is provided with an image display means 6 for displaying images and image information, a pair of operation means provided on an exterior part and provided with the plural functions and a control means 21 for setting the functions of the operation means. The control means 21 controls the operation means so as to be a recording zoom magnification selection means for selecting the zoom magnification of the images for recording at the time of recording, to be the mode switching means of a normal mode for displaying a single image at the image display means and a reproduction zoom mode for displaying the image in which a part of the image is electrically magnified at the image display means at the time of reproduction and to be a reproduction zoom magnification selection means for selecting the zoom magnification of the image for the reproduction at the time of the reproduction zoom mode.
