To reduce the power consumption and to enhance the portability when a terminal of enclosure opening/closing type reproduces multimedia information.

During reproduction of multimedia information, the opening/ closing state of cases A, B is monitored, when the cases A, B are opened, video data and character data configuring telop are read from a memory section 26 and they are respectively displayed on a main information display area 341a and an attached information display area 341b of a first LCD 341. On the other hand, when the cases A, B are closed, only the character data configuring the telop are selectively read from the memory section 26, the read character data are converted into a second display format corresponding to a second LCD 342 and the converted data are displayed on the second LCD 342.
