To provide a method for registering in a phone book data base for facilitating registering in the phone book data base using a data base linking with map information.
Names of corporations and individual persons related with map information are selected by the direction from an operation means 12, from an accumulated data base 11 in which names of corporations and individual persons linked on map information on a map are related with telephone numbers of the corporations and individual persons. The selected names of the corporations and individual persons and the corresponding telephone numbers are sent out of a data transmission means 13 to the exterior of a navigation system 1. The sent names of the corporations and individual persons and the corresponding telephone numbers are taken in a terminal device 2 by way of a connection means 3 and a data input means 23. The taken names of the corporations and individual persons and the corresponding telephone numbers are registered in the phone book data base 21 provided in the terminal device 2.
